Chew Chong established the Te Roti creamery in spring 1893 to supply the Jubilee butter factory in Eltham.
The creamery was built opposite the Te Roti railway station on Te Roti Road and Mr Hassell and Albert Chew Chong (Chew Chong’s son) were successive managers.
The creamery closesd down in 1899 due to increased competition from the nearby Loan & Mercantile Company and Eltham Co-op creameries and was offered for sale in June 1899.
Unclear whether there are any physical remains (foundations etc) but these appear unlikely given the aerial photo of the likely location.
